Australian shipyard Silveryachts has sold its first SpaceCat superyacht. The first hull in the series, SpaceCat is a 36-meter catamaran designed by Espen Oeino with 400 square meters of exterior space and a lightweight, low-strength hull.
In development for over two years, the spacious catamaran has been built to the highest standards at Silveryacht’s Chinese facilities and with a beam of 13.3 meters she can comfortably accommodate up to 10 guests, five crew members. crew and captain.
Delivery of the completed vessel is scheduled for next month and the identity of the Asian buyer has been kept secret. What we do know is that SpaceCat’s green credentials are top-notch, with the catamaran using a Volvo Penta IPS propulsion system, which offers benefits such as increased maneuverability, lower emissions and better fuel efficiency. than traditional diesel.
The 300 square meters of interior space is well utilized and a large aft deck swimming pool extends from the cavernous saloon. This bridge is huge; approximately 202 square meters of space is more than enough for socializing and relaxing. Although relatively small for a superyacht measuring 36 meters in length, the advantages of two hulls are evident in these large spaces. The vessel’s volume is comparable to that of a traditional 164-foot (50-meter) monohull motor yacht.
The design of the SpaceCat catamaran has other advantages, as well as increased stability and maneuverability. Silveryachts has developed low-resistance hull technology that not only provides a smooth ride, but uses less fuel and emits fewer pollutants.
Now let’s talk about this exterior. Renowned designer and naval architect Espen Oenio has outdone himself in creating functional and practical, yet elegant and stylish outdoor spaces where guests and owner are sure to feel comfortable and at ease.
Alfresco dining and sun loungers are located on the aft upper deck, while the sundeck has storage space aft with sun loungers and lounge chairs forward. The two hulls can be connected by a hydraulic platform creating a spacious beach club aft.
The SpaceCat Superyacht will be able to cruise in shallow waters thanks to her shallow draft of 1.82 meters and the views from the saloon sofas will be world class, thanks to the large windows on either side of the yacht. The interior color scheme is a relaxing contemporary nautical pale wood and seafaring white, while the onboard furnishings are plush and modern. The Italian company Pulina Exclusive Interiors has created beautiful, fresh and dynamic spaces.
