PERRYSBURG – To celebrate the upcoming holiday season, Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital invites the community to an open house featuring Santa Claus, a Christmas tree and expanding health care services.

The hospital hosts a ribbon cutting and blessing of Wood County’s first Cardiac Catheterization Lab, while providing a fun-filled holiday with a visit from Santa, the annual Christmas tree lighting, and treats.

The open house and annual tree lighting event is open to the community and will be held from 5:30-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital, 12623 Eckel Junction Road. Use entry B.

A cardiac catheterization laboratory, also known as a catheterization laboratory, is a specialized area used for minimally invasive testing and advanced cardiac procedures. During heart catheterization, a catheter, or a long, thin, flexible tube, is inserted into a blood vessel and threaded to your heart, allowing specialists to perform various tests and treatments.

Following the blessing of the cath lab, visitors are invited to enjoy the music, holiday spirit and tours of the new state-of-the-art lab. Holiday activities will include a visit from Santa and treats such as hot chocolate and mini Bundt cakes.

Champions for Children will also be on hand to accept food donations to provide food assistance to families served by Mercy Health – Toledo Trauma Recovery Center. Community members are encouraged to help the TRC stock their shelves this season by donating non-perishable, easy-to-open food.

Since opening in 2019, Mercy Health has provided Perrysburg’s only full-service community hospital, providing a full range of compassionate, high-quality health care and exceptional services. Mercy Health – Perrysburg Hospital offers 46 private inpatient rooms and is now adding a Cardiac Catheterization Lab to its list of comprehensive services such as surgery, critical care, an on-site lab, imaging services and diagnostics, a comprehensive cancer center and full service, 24/7 Emergencies.
